State Track Meet Recap

Sorry so long since posting. It's been "summer" busy around here....camps, social director, etc...you with children know exactly what I mean.

State track meet seems like a gazillion years away. And yet it was only a couple of weeks ago. Stef did well....she ran her best time of the season but it wasn't quite enough to get her into the finals. Fortunately she has a couple of years left in highschool to reach her goals of standing on the podium. She had a great season and she feels definitely blessed.....it's not good, or bad....just is...

After the track meet we headed up to our land...the slice of heaven that Scott calls it. Stef brought her boyfriend along and we spent Saturday through Tuesday there. The weather wasn't the warmest but we still got the boat out on the lake and Stefanie wanted to learn how to waterski. Her bf is an avid waterskiier so he was the instructor. A good one at that because she got up the very first time.....then proceeded to take a nose dive about 5 seconds later. The second time up she caught on and we pulled her around the lake for about 5 minutes....she loved it. Jake got a little freaked out tubing, especially after looking at the depth finder and seeing how deep the lake was. It was only 15 feet but that was enough to put this dreadful look on his face. So after cajoling him to no avail he got back into the boat with tears. Stef's bf was kind and told Jake that he'll do it the next time.....Jake's sister was not as kind and told him to "suck it up and just do it." Now isn't that encouraging when your irrational fear tells you that you don't want to do something. Well, needless to say it was too cold to get out the next few days so Jake wasn't able to give it a try again....even though he was ready to....

So, here are some pictures from the weekend:

That's Stef's first attempt up......she did it!!

Some people are not fish....some people are land animals....

Yours truly has gone tubing and I had a great time....but, I had a bad bad incident when I was taking swimming lessons when a kid jumped in on my head and I thought I was gonna drown.....

It's one of those fears that has plagued me to this day. I like to swim, but refuse to put my face in the water....

I even won't put my face in the shower.....

So....sometimes, I think it's okay to be leary......

Jake looks WAY more comfy on his 4-wheeler!!

It's all what you get used to and want to do!!

Peggy :-)
